The Forgotten Realms
Map of the Realms
Region Map
Close-up Map

Welcome friends, step inside, and join us as we step into the legendary setting known as the Forgotten Realms that was created by none other than Ed "Elminster" Greenwood himself!

From the bitter, windswept steppes of the Endless Waste to the storm-lashed cliffs of the Sword Coast stretches a wide, wild land of shining kingdoms and primal wilderness. Dozens of nations, hundreds of citystates, and countless tribes, villages, and settlements dot its expanse.

The continent of Faerûn is a landmass of approximately nine and a half million square miles, located mainly in the northern hemisphere of the world of Toril. Sub-arctic extremes chill its northern reaches, where ice sheets like the Great Glacier dominate the landscape in blinding white. To the south are the equatorial jungles of Chult and the tropical coasts of Halruaa. It’s bordered on the west by the Trackless Sea and on the east by the Endless Wastes and the Hordelands that separate it from Kara-Tur.

A world of high fantasy where dragons are abound, where great kingdoms rise and fall and where gods walk among mortals. Join us as we adventure into the unknown in search of great treasures, dangerous foes and legendary deeds.

Step into our world and watch us usher in a new and exciting era, full of possibilities for both good & evil.

Adventure Introduction
For the last six months, the companions have been escorting merchant caravans between the city of Arabel and Highmoon. Tonight, they return home to Winterhaven for a well deserved rest.

As they get closer to home, following the East Way road from the city of Highmoon, darkness begins to set in. The autumn night air surges fierce and sweet, carrying the clear musk smell of the woodlands. The soft murmurs of stirring leaves, insects, and small animals of the night fill the landscape. The clear highland sky, full of stars, stretches out before them and seems to go on forever.

Dense forests of tall pines carpet the region, broken only by the thick aspen woods. The mountains, in the far distance, stretch across the land giving a nice backdrop to the fading sun as it drops behind the distant mountains. The sun slowly drops behind the mountains, stirring the sounds of the night. With the upcoming winter months soon to arrive, the air has already started to chill slightly. In the distance ahead, thunder can be heard breaking the silence of the night.

Our story, however, takes place about a days walk from the settlement Winterhaven in a small clearing at the base of a massive stone monument once dedicated to an order of monks, long since forgotten. Here in the wilderness, is where our story begins. At a sleepy campsite on the edge of the wild, a small collection of wandering destinies begin to come together . . .

« About Our Adventures »

Welcome everyone. I would like to try and educate everyone on exactly what we will be doing in this Forgotten Realms campaign setting. As most of you already are aware of, Forgotten Realms"as a campaign setting" is an extremely old campaign setting so it has that "every rock and stone has been kicked over feel" to it so we will have to change that.

This setting has a very worn feel to it, like an old pair of bedroom slippers. For me personally, Forgotten Realms has that "been there, done that" feel to it which is a bad thing for me as a DM. What I ended up deciding was "hey! let's run something in an isolated region" . . . in a region that WotC has pretty much forgotten about. This might give me that isolated feel and allow me to focus on this remote landscape.

Our campaign that we will start out with is in the settlement of Winterhaven and I really hope I can flesh this region out a lot for my players to enjoy and really get themselves into the story.

Wish us luck because I am sure this will be a challenge.

We are always looking for more like minded players and also Dungeon Masters that would like to play 1st edition Dungeons & Dragons or even Old-School Essentials Classic or Advanced Fantasy that will be "dedicated" players and/or Dungeon Masters. We have had a rough run here recently not being able to hold onto players due to real life issues or simply not having the motivation to actually play. We are all having to learn Old-School Essentials and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons all over again as well as the Forgotten Realms setting "yea, I know" so if you can tolerate mistakes being made while we learn then please give us a shout out.

If you think you would like to join us, you can comment on the following page here The comment section is at the bottom of the page.

« Old-School Essentials »

Old-School Essentials or OSE is an adventure roleplaying game of exploration, danger, monsters, and magic. The game is intentionally rules light, putting the focus of play on imagination, improvisation, and fun.

Old School Essentials is a retroclone of the Basic & Expert D&D Rules by Tom Moldvay, published in 1981. These rules were a revision of Holmes Basic and intended to introduce D&D to new players. They were released in two boxed sets the Red 'Basic' set and the Blue 'Expert' set.

The system we will be using is a modified Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy.

"Games give you a chance to excel, and if you're playing in good company you don't even mind if you lose because you had the enjoyment of the company during the course of the game."
— Gary Gygax

« About Our Blog »

Greetings everyone. I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. This blog will cover the Forgotten Realms setting and its adventures. We will be using the Old-School Essentials system as our core rules with a few house rules added into our game.

This blog is in it's beginning stages and will take time before it can be fleshed out into something worth reading, but given time this place should be packed full of information concerning our Forgotten Realms campaign adventures.

Our adventure journals will also be posted here. All of our Twitch stream sessions (when we do stream our games) will be posted here as well. We hope you enjoy your stay and look forward to seeing you in the future.

The admin for this blog is James Fullard who is also one of the DM's for this group.
